The Torso in the River — Human Sacrifices in London

It was 4pm on the 21st September 2001. Under the bright lights of the famous Globe Theatre where Shakespeare produced some of his most gruesome and bloodiest plays, life would exceed the absurdities of drama — a mutilated torso had washed up from the river covered in a red cloth. Police investigators would discover it was a child’s torso (they named him Adam) and the ethnic origins were sub-Saharan African. Police initially linked the remains to a religious sacrifice and the African mythology of Muti-based ritualism. Muti reflects the idea of South African ritual killings for a kind of pseudo-scientific medicinal purposes. However; this would send the Metropolitan Police of London on a bit of a wild goose chase where they investigated heavily in South Africa and even had the help of Nelson Mandela; who made an international appeal for information. Gaining Mandela’s help was a major coup for the Met Police but may have covered up the embarrassment of being 1000s of miles out geographica...

Janet Brown: Bound and Brutalized in her own home

Janet Brown: Bound and Brutalized in her own home A mysterious woman meets a mysterious end. Mr and Mrs. Brown JANET BROWN: NURSE BEATEN TO DEATH IN OWN HOME. Recent news reports — as of 10/04/2020 Janet Brown’s death remains a mystery, much like the details of her life. Few people in the remote village where Janet lived knew her until one spring evening in 1995 when an intruder burst into her quiet farmhouse. Janet’s body was later found bound, naked and gagged. Twenty-five years later and Janet’s murder remains unsolved. DNA evidence has recently emerged; and we know that the assailant is a male. But despite testing against over 700 swabs, nobody has been linked as of yet. Janet Brown was a modest and quiet woman — with nothing special about her. This is not to demean her life or importance to those that loved her (including her three children and husband) but ultimately this could be true of any of us. In life we may be unremarkable and in death we may be the talk of the town; the s...

The Tylenol Murders

THE TYLENOL MURDERS Psychologists described the killer as so strange that their normal guidelines do not work. Not only did the killer have psychologists scratching their head but almost 40-years later the Chicago Police and FBI are still scratching their heads…. In 1982 a series of deadly poisonings occurred in the Chicago Area and the unlikely method was common over-the-counter painkiller — Tylenol  laced with cyanide. The frightening thing about the   murders was that it never solved and that the killer may very well walk these streets to this day. The murders also inspired a host of copycats including  Black Widow Stella Nickell . Stella drew inspiration from the murders and developed an ingenious way (in her mind) to off her burdensome husband and make it look like a Tylenol psycho spiking common consumer products. It is also a case that can draw similarities with the Anthrax murders which coincided with the September 11th attacks in 2001. The Anthrax attacks took 5 ...

TRUE CRIME: The Playboy Bunny Killer

MEDIUM TRUE CRIME: The Playboy Bunny Killer And the Horrors of 1975 One case which had received notoriety in the UK was the murder of Eve Stratford (aged just 21), which was remarkably linked to the murder of Lynne Weedon (aged just 16) thirty years later. In 2004 the two killings were discovered to have been committed by the same perpetrator using DNA testing. And so, two murders across different parts of a sprawling London were established to have been a committed by a serial killer — who for forty years had been hiding in plain sight. Eve’s murd e r occurred on the 18th March 1975 while Lynne’s was almost six months after on the 10th September 1975 both occurring in suburban London. There were also potential links to a third murder of Lynda Farrow who was killed in her home in the January of that year with many similarities to the other two. The three murders were all in the Greater London area of Leyton, Hounslow and Chigwell. The double murders occurred in 1975 and it is chilling ...
